FOSA Savings Account

It is mandatory for every FOSA member to have a FOSA Savings Account in order to enjoy any other FOSA services.

  • Requires no mimimum operating balance.
  • Has an unlimited number of deposits and withdrawals.
  • Supports salary and loan processing.
  • Incurs no ledger fees.
  • Allows overdraft.
  • Allows Bankers Cheques.
  • Charges are only incurred for external standing orders.
  • Funds can be accessed through ATMs, Mobile Banking, and Over-the-counter.

Silver Savings Account
  • Requires a minimum operating balance of ksh.1,000.
  • Earns interest of 5% p.a. or as may be decided by the Board from time to time.
  • The minimum interest earning balance is ksh.5,000.
  • Supports one withdrawal per quarter.

Golden Savings Account
  • Requires a minimum operating balance of ksh.5000.
  • Earns interest of 6% p.a. or as may be decided by the Board from time to time.
  • The minimum balance to earn interest is ksh.10,000.
  • Withdrawal is after every 6 months of savings-Biannual.
  • Can be used as collateral for a loan.

Fixed Deposit Account
  • Requires a minimum deposit of ksh.20,000.
  • Requires a minimum deposit period of 3 months.
  • Earns interest that varies with amount or as may be decided by the Board from time to time.

Malaika Savings Account

This product aims to cultivate and encourage the culture of saving and financial awareness to children that are below 18 years of age.

  • Requires a minimum operating balance of ksh.1,000.
  • Earns interest of 5% p.a. or as may be decided by the Board from time to time.
  • The minimum balance to earn interest is ksh.3,000.
  • Comes with 3 free Bankers Cheques for school fees.

Business Account

This product is meant for business people who require regular access to financing.

  • Has unlimited deposits and withdrawals.
  • Members can overdraw the account at an interest of 10% that is deducted upfront.
  • Security is required for overdrawing.

Group Savings Account

A product tailored to benefit both formal and informal groups who would like to save and earn an interest on their savings.

  • Requires minutes resolving opening of the account including signing instructions.
  • Requires registration certificate, KRA pin, and photocopy of IDs/passports of the signatories.
  • Earns interest of 5% p.a. or as may be decided by the Board from time to time.
  • The minimum balance to earn interest is ksh.10,000.
  • Only individual members qualify to access credit.

A product that is only available to formal groups.

  • Requires minutes resolving opening of the account.
  • Requires registration certificate, KRA pin, and photocopy of IDs/passports of the signatories.
  • Earns interest of 5% p.a. or as may be decided by the Board from time to time.
  • Has access to cheque books.
  • Can be used as collateral for a loan.

  • Requires a minimum operating balance of ksh.1,000.
  • Earns interest of 5% p.a. or as may be decided by the Board from time to time.
  • The minimum balance to earn interest is ksh.10,000.
  • Comes with 3 free Bankers Cheques for school fees.
